Position Overview

At Kokonut, we are devoted to bringing the communities together through better and healthier desserts. It's what gets us out of bed in the morning and keeps us up late at night. We bring happiness to every customer through legendary customer experience and gracious hospitality. We encourage our team members to be well-rounded team players, willing to get their hands dirty and do whatever it takes to keep your store running smoothly! We need this position to go above and beyond, model, and act in accordance with Kokonut's guiding principles. No matter what position you start in with us, you will have the opportunity to be cross-trained and will be tasked to take on different positions within our team.

Key Responsibilities (include and are not limited to):
  1. Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by providing gracious hospitality to customers and connecting with them

  2. Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Kokonut

  3. Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team

  4. Discover and communicate to the store manager about internal process improvement opportunities

  5. Follow Kokonut operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, safety, and security

  6. Maintain a clean and organized workspace

  7. Prepare quality products according to health, food safety, sanitation guidelines, and quality standards, eliminating cross-contamination

  8. Maintain regular and punctual attendance

  9. Maintain inventory spreadsheet and raise alarm when needed for low stock level items

  10. Dispatch drivers promptly when delivery order is received

  11. Learn and maintain knowledge of our changing menu to effectively communicate all ingredients to guests

  12. Operate POS register to complete daily transactions

  13. Ability to work in variable shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/ or holidays, with or without accommodations. Typical shift starts time: 

  1. Must be eligible to work in the U.S
  2. Must have Food Handler's Card
  3. Previous experience in retail, sales, customer service or hospitality industry a plus
  4. Deep and demonstrated understanding of gracious hospitality in a consumer environment
Basic Qualifications
  • Food, Restaurant, Team and/or Customer Service experience

  • A team player with a positive can-do attitude

  • Quick and adaptable learner

  • Excellent and collaborative communication skills

  • A knack for delivering personable customer service and a desire to make connections with guests everyday

  • Accountable in upholding high standards

Physical Requirements
In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job.​

  • Standing or walking for 75% of scheduled shifts

  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting occasionally throughout scheduled shifts

  • Required to lift, move and carry up to about 25 pounds

  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation and reports

  • Must be able to see, hear and speak in order to communicate with employees, customers and vendors

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Manual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and arms

  • Moderate: Mostly standing, walking, bending, frequent lifting
